Daniel turns 7

See this little guy? He's almost three.

A few weeks ago, we celebrated him growing into this big guy! I was excited to find these two pictures of Daniel, wearing the same hat.

We had a fun family party at home following our standard birthday party pattern: grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins (when available), kid food and a cake, and a few presents.

At Daniel's request, we added a game: Destroy Paper Star Wars Bad Guys.

Mercy smiles. Daniel is sharing his gifts.

We all had a great time celebrating Daniel's seventh birthday! Happy Birthday Buddy!!

And I had to share these pics that I found on my hunt for old photos of Daniel.

When I was pregnant with Mercy, I spent a couple weeks on bedrest. These good friends of ours traveled quite a way to spend the day with the kids and I AND brought a ton of yummy food to stock our freezer if I remember correctly.

I just thought these pictures of that day were cute. It sure seems like a long time ago!

Daniel

My oldest boy...

...so very much an "all boy" boy.

My prayers for you, Daniel...

are really more about my lacks than yours.

Oh, that I would have more grace for you and in my dealings with you!

Being the oldest can be hard work.

John 1:16
And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God...

Rocks for sale

My busy boys.

Daniel and Michael want to buy some 3 ring binders and special plastic pages in which to keep their baseball and football and I think Star Wars cards.

After I told them that they couldn't choose random things from the house to sell by the street, they decided upon an activity I remember doing as a child.

I am so thankful for the cheerful neighbors who now own Daniel's and Michael's spontaneous works of art.
PAinted roks for twenty five cents

My guys are growing at being good brothers to each other.

I love that!
